ALIE KAMARA is the country (Sierra Leone) coordinator for the Capacity4Food Project. He holds a MSc degree in Soil Science (Soil Fertility and Chemistry). He is the acting head of the Department of Soil Science, Njala University, Sierra Leone. He has experience working with EU-funded projects such as the BeBi Project promoting the use of biochar in agriculture. He currently working on (i) improving soil fertility using biochar derived from different biomass, (ii) developing a method for assessing lime requirements of some Sierra Leone soils and (iii)mapping and managing spatial variability of soil fertility in the riverain grasslands and mangrove areas of Sierra Leone.
