The first CAPACITY4FOOD training has been hosted at the University of the Gambia and opened by the Vice Chancellor Prof: Muhamadou M. O. Kah and the Project Scientific Coordinator, Germán López from the University of Alicante.
The main objectives of the training were:
- To analyse the main resources available for formation of people and application of ISFM strategies in Africa to produce training materials to be used in participant countries
- To have a clear idea on the funding opportunities for the Centres of Excellence for their topics of interest
- Basic knowledge on Project Cycle Management and funding opportunities
The participants have been the staff of teh CAPACITY4FOOD Centres of Excellence since the aim here was to train them so that they can replicate the training received within their home universities, also inviting other universities of the country, farmers, NGOs, associations and also policy makers depending on the topic.
